The 1966 Sexual Revolution caused a major shift in what Western nations see as moral behaviour. One of the areas of shift was in the area of homosexuality. In fact it wasn’t that long ago in a nation like Australia where homosexual acts between consenting adults was in fact illegal. Now it’s viewed as usual and normal behaviour. In fact in many Western nations there’s a push to legitimise and legalise same sex marriage. By and large the church has stood against this change. They don’t believe that homosexuality is a lifestyle that accords with what the Bible teaches. So is the church just being homophobic? Is it an archaic view? Are we on the wrong side of history?
