Christians believe in the supernatural. They believe in the miraculous that can’t be explained away by logic or by science. The Bible is full of the supernatural from Old Testament stories like the Red Sea being parted to the New Testament stories of Jesus healing people or walking on the water and the pivotal story of Jesus rising to life from the dead. And Christians believe that the miraculous still occurs. But for many people, that’s like believing in the tooth fairy or that Santa Claus will come down the chimney on Christmas Eve and give you your presents – it’s child-like thinking. And yet the supernatural still seems to occur. People are healed, people see visions, people experience what they think is the presence of God. So what do we do with the supernatural? Is it reasonable or is it fairy tales for weak-minded people?
